From 2017-2022 I was a generalist for Saturday Night Live. At the time I was hired, the post-production team was evolving. Writers were requesting more nuanced graphics reflecting the visual styles from different eras. Additionally, more ambitious stunts were being done by the Film Unit requiring more complex 3D and VFX work, I was hired to accommodate both.

Within television, Saturday Night Live is notorious for being one of the faster and more chaotic post-production pipelines in New York. Artists often work quite independently and must build adaptable project files on the fly. There are no producers, we work directly with writers and directors to bring their visions to life, so we are expected to have a point of view. Ultimately, air time is money, and most sketches don't make it to air. So a good metric for success is whether you can make the audience laugh by dress rehearsal.
